journalocity

Finished 3 journals today but need to photograph them for Etsy. This is the first one I am listing and hope to get to the others tomorrow. I am going to try to list some other bits and bobs up there too because I am trying to regain control of my studio space and I know someone could use some of this stuff but it probably won't be me. Thanks for checking it out :)

PS. If you haven't done so but want to, there is still time to scroll down to my giveaway and toss your name in the hat.

750! a giveaway...

Guess what? This is my 750th post on this blog! It snuck up on me but I am prepared. I have been making journals (see below) and journaling like crazy so I have lots of pages to bind up into a fun special "giveaway journal". Just leave your comment on this post and I will draw a name sometime next week.

Now for the good stuff.. pictures!!
The following is a journal I made for my soul sister Lora. Lora lives back east, is the mother of 2 beautiful boys and is currently battling MDS (marrow cancer). It hasn't been an easy road for her and proves to be a difficult road ahead so I thought I'd make her a little something as a pick me up. I hope to get it off to her in the mail tomorrow with a lot of love and good wishes..

This second stripy journal is headed to my Etsy shop in a few days. I love playing with all the different papers and pictures.

There are lots of flaps and pockets to play with and plenty of room for journaling or artwork. Hope you have enjoyed these peeks.. Don't forget to leave a comment. Good luck :) xo

One World, One Heart

Thanks to all who left such nice comments. My giveaway is now closed. Please check back Later this afternoon ( Monday) for the winners!

I am a little late on the uptake but not too late to get in on the OWOH giveaways this year. I have debated on what I wanted to give away but most of my stuff lately has been too Valentiney considering the actual drawing for this is after Valentine's Day, so I decided to draw on my other current obsession. As you regular reader's know I recently took Mary Ann Moss'sRemains of the Day journaling class and it was great. I find myself sneaking into the studio for a few minutes at a time and sewing more stuff together to make MORE pages.

This giveaway will be of particular interest to art journalers and lovers of flotsam and jetsam as I am giving away a ROD Journal which I have yet to create although I have tons of pages in process so it will be done before the drawing ends.

I am posting a few pix from other journals I have done as well as a link to the ROD flickr pool so you can check out what all this is about if you are so inclined.

So you all know the drill, leave a comment if you'd like to be entered in my drawing. I will draw the winner on Monday, Feb 15. I MUST be able to contact you so don't forget to make sure you leave an email address or your link goes to an active email address. Thanks and good luck!!

SUE of Its a Very Cherry World, you are the lucky winner of my 700th post giveaway! Please email me with your address and I will send off your box of goodies to play with. I hope you will feel inspired!

In other news, the little and I just got back from a fun trip to Disneyland. Being in private school, we don't have all kinds of in-service days and minimum days so the kids got 4 day weekend for Columbus Day... our twin friends just happened to be turning 6 over the weekend so the 3 mamas packed up the 3 kidlets and road tripped down for some fun in the sun. It was cool to see Disneyland all decked out for Halloween and we even attended a special Disney Halloween Party in costume one night. I was super proud of the little for being brave and attempting some new rides and cozying up to a bunch of the characters. Goofy is always her favorite!!

Well I am off. Tomorrow is a studio day as we need to come up with some holiday items for an upcoming open house boutique... more to share soon!

Ooh wow, 700 and LolliShops Design Team

As I was logging in I realized that my last post was number 700!! Wow, I had no idea I was that close. Well its kind of timely because today is the big reveal for the LolliShops design Team Autumn Projects. We each got a packet of inspiration provided by Sadie and some of her Lolli Vendors and friends... The Retro Art Cafe, The Tin Tiara, SkyBlueBunny and Lollishops itself..

We were each sent a similar packet and asked to create something(s). I almost missed the deadline but scrambled and finished up my projects today. It felt like the nature was conspiring against me to keep from this, child illness, rough school days, computer issues.. but I did it!! I think the things I did were fun and cute. It was a good exercise is stretching myself as I have not been using much in the way of pastels lately.

First off I made this cute tag on a form that was provided. The cute doll stickers were fun and I embellished with vintage music, wallpaper and lace, along with lace and ribbon from the kit. Its topped off with some vintage buttons and embroidery and a sparkly flower in her hair. I will be sending this along with some other goodies, off to a lucky commenter in thanks for supporting me and my blogging ups and downs. Just leave a comment and a way to contact you and I will draw a name in a few days.

My other creations was inspired by the "Bits and Pieces" swap I did a while back that was hosted by Jenny of Everyday is a Holiday. I did a small "collage" on top of a box that can be used for trinkets and treasures. It has already been snapped up by my daughter for her room which is undergoing a make over. The various bits were from the kit, the pretty brooch, paper doll, lollipop, lace snippets, buttons and darling velvet flower along with the background paper. I had a lot of fun doing this "challenge" and look forward to next month.

Edited: I am adding a small covered box similar to that shown here ready for you to embellish with some goodies left over from the kit and some other things from my stash as well. Just leave a comment and I will draw a name to win it and the tag. Good luck!

we have a winner and other business...

Sorry, I am a bit late on posting the winner of my JUNQUE giveaway. I used the random number thingie and it chose number 34 which is ROBIN from A Robin's Nest. Congratulations! Please send me your snail mail and I will send off a fun back of inspiration to you.

Thanks to everyone who commented and showed interest in participating in a Bloggy Garage Sale. I AM going to host one over the weekend of April 17-19. Details will be forthcoming, but mark your calendars. I will also have a fun button that everyone can post on their blogs to show they are participating. If you are interested and want to be on my emailing list for the group, please email me or comment here so I can add you. I will only email regarding this event.. so no spam.. ever.

In other news. I have made a commitment to myself to get my LolliShop stocked. I am going to be adding some note cards like those shown in this post as soon as I get them stamped (waiting for my new business stamp) and I will have other vintagey goodies to share. I have been hoarding cute old padded hangers and I plan to spruce them up with pretty millinery and ribbons, plus old chandelier crystals and boxes of trims.. lots of good stuff coming. Yay.

Finally, Sadie Lou of LolliShops and I are working on a fun project together that we will be sharing with the masses in the not too distant future. I am not supposed to be talking about it but I am about to burst with excitement so check back.

SIWLDT

That stands for Say It With Letters Design team...
I just finished up my first project(s) on Deb's design team. I was sent this set of wooden ornaments and given free rein to do with them as I pleased. After my initial idea, I scraped them, primed them and decided to go for the shabby look by using vintage wallpapers (mostly from Donna), glass glitter, lace, crepe paper, ball trim and more little doo-dads. I think they are super fun.

AND I hope you like them too because in celebration of my FORTIETH birthday ( next weekend) I am giving away the smaller two ornaments to some lucky commenter. So if you want to have a chance to win, please leave a comment or comments on my blog between now and next Saturday the 15th (my official birthday) and I will draw a name to win them! How is that for a birthday celebration??

As for now I am on my way to San Simeon where I will be spending the weekend with some of my best girls at this lovely hotel. I am taking my camera and a party spirit so hopefully I will have lots to share when I get back. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
