me

Its coming down to the deadline for all of our writing, images, etc to be turned in to Stampington so they can finalize the book. Its been so exciting and yet so nerve wracking all at the same time. A big dilemma for me has been what picture to send it for the bio portion. I hate having my picture taken, it makes me nervous and I was not excited about the prospect of sending one to go in a book! Not having time to arrange a session with Joleen (bummer), I turned to the next best photog I know, my pal Mike from Hannah Grey. he shot these pix of me after a class at Tangerine in Dublin a bit over a week ago. It was late but my make up and hair were half way decent even though I was a nervous wreck. Gina tried to lighten the mood by bringing out props.. (we're still trying to figure why she had this giant sombrero in the back of the shop?!) which, while fun I didn't really think fit with the theme of the book. So, out of the many, many shots Mike took, I have narrowed it down to these two. (not the hat pic) I need to have my final choice in by Friday so I am turning to you for some input as to which picture I should send.

I will be sweetening the pot a little in return for this favor. For everyone who leaves a comment with their opinion on which photo to send I will enter your name into a drawing for something fun (to be determined) and draw a name from the comments on Friday evening. Good luck and thank you.

  1. OK I SOOOOO want to chose the Sombrero hat picture because you're just fun that way!!! But I guess of the other two, I like the top one the best with the bigger smile.

  3. While I like the close up (the third picture) for size and focus, I absolutely love your smile in the first picture so go with that one!

  4. I love the hat picture, but out of your choices, I'm going with number one. :)

  7. While all the photos are great, I think for the book, I would select the last picture. It looks professional while still capturing your personality through your beautiful smile.

  9. Life is too serious already. I'd rather see a fun loving picture of number 1 in a bio anyday. I think folks would connect with it than how intense the third one is. IMO.

  13. SO take it from me girl, either way you can't go wrong-you're GOEGEOUS!!

IF I HAD to pick, I would go with the second one (at the bottom) just because it's the best composition.

Congrats on the book! I am so proud of you!
    xo

P.S. I hate having my photo taken too! Always have-I used to hide under the bed when I was a kid.

  15. I like the top pic. In the bottom pic it looks like you are saying "take the flippin' picture or I'm gonna kick you in the shin" But that also amuses me..... so either one is good....... I'm no help, am I?

  16. Heather--I love the top one!! Can you crop off the sides? So it's just you, and not so much background??? You are beautiful!!

  17. The first one's pretty nice but needs work. Crop it like the last one and get rid of the streetlight and/or street sign that remain,

  18. Hi Heather, you know I do like the hat photo but the first photo is my pick because you look happy...I would want to come and talk to you...well I would anyway but the first one is better if we can't choose the hat one.
Hope you are having a great day, kiss noises Linda Lilly Cottage.

  21. I love the sombrero pic, but I'll have to go with #1 because your face is emphasized and your smile makes you look friendly and approachable.

  22. You look beautiful in all three pix! The smile in the top one is so open and friendly, the bottom one looks more pensive, "artistic"? I agree with the others about using the top one but cropping it about like the bottom one.

  27. Ugh, I don't even have mine done yet! The really sad thing is, there aren't even casual pictures to chose from- 'cause I'm always the one snapping photos!! My sister is coming over today... maybe I'll do the same little contest as you! I like the first photo. Your hair is so cute.

PS- as to your comment on my blog (thanks for stopping by) yes, I did get one more layout- the one page in your book- Puppy Love. Just the one side, I guess they didn't like the other one! LOL.

  30. I vote for the top pic! You look happy and very pretty...not that you don't look pretty in the bottom pic, but you seem a little more pensive maybe? Course...I really want the sombreo pic...bu guess that is out the question!

PS So glad for the good news on your bro! Neck and jawline are usually symptoms that women have, rather than the classic chest/left arm pain. So glad he made the decision to get in when he did.

  36. Oh, I know what you mean about having to have your photo taken! I've got to have a press release photo taken this week for an upcoming show and I'm nervous as all getout! I love all of your photos, as they show different moods. But I think the best one for what you're looking for sums it all up on photo #1... you look happy and excited and really to spill the beans on all you know! Congratulations on the book!
