balancing
Autumn is quite the conundrum for me. On one hand, I love the changing weather, the light, the smells and the crisp evenings and mornings. I want to cozy up the house and buy pumpkins and gather fall leaves, light candles and make cocoa and gingerbread. On the flip side, no matter how well things are going or how "good" I am feeling, I never seem to be able to escape the blues when SAD starts to rear its ugly head. As the days get shorter and colder and we are forced inside more I feel SAD trying to grab hold of me and drag me down. Right now is a balancing act. I have a long "to do" list but I find myself struggling to keep up and focus. It happens every year but always seems like such a surprise... right now I am working on juggling my work and crossing things off the Must Do list while balancing with the Want To Do list.. like this cute purse pattern from Melly & Me.

I hear ya girl! Of course thinking of cool weather when it's still 94 outside makes me feel better. ;) I'm trying so hard to get these things on my list checked off and settled before I have to fight the funk.
ReplyDeletethanks for the link to melly and me. i discovered a ton of fabric in my cabinet of doom and these bags are a perfect way to use up some of the fabric!
ReplyDeleteCome to Phoenix and visit with me when you need a sunshine fix! It's always sunny here!
ReplyDeleteHang in there girl! Maybe a light machine would help? I dunno - SAD doesn't hit me till Jan/Feb but it still stinks... That purse is awfully happy though!
ReplyDeleteI hear ya girl! Hoping this year brings many happy returns to you!!

Hi Heather,I Love Fall! That purse is amazing...I want it. Sending up a prayer for your SAD to go away. May God fill you to overflowing with His joy! Yes, buy many pumpkins and leaves and frolic around the house decorating with good music playing. Save a few days where you pretend there is no "to-do" list. Read Susan Branch's Autumn book and be inspired. I will keep lifting you up!! Love, Kristin
ReplyDeleteI got a little light box at Costco for under $200. I sit by it for about 30 minutes in the morning and it does help. It is bright!
ReplyDeleteAlso, remember to turn the house lights on. I am home by myself most of the time and I forget to.
Hope this helps.
