I'm back...

Hey friends, I am back. I never had a chance to do the post I had planned before I left on vacation with my family. Before I left, I started new meds, which of course started new headaches and well.. I ran out of time. I am happy to report that I am feeling MUCH better now and we had a wonderful time at San Jose Family Camp (which despite the name is up near Yosemite) over the holiday weekend. We got home late Tuesday night and I have been washing smoky, dirty clothes and trying to tidy up at home as well as catch up on emails and such.

We returned home to 100 degree weather and thick smoke once again. Here where we live we are under a Red Flag advisory which basically means if you value your lungs, stay inside. Its a bit challenging with a busy 4.5 year old. (though she is currently plotting on how she can shampoo the carpet) I have been trying to continue on with my studio purge and reorganization. My goal is still the end of August. The good part of my purging is that I am finding many things that I am willing to sell. I have been working on new Junque Packs and have just listed some in my much neglected Etsy. They are great for small projects like ATCs, cards and journal pages and have a wide variety of "junque" from my studio. As soon as I can get them packed up I will also have some old horse/ dog show ribbons, crepe paper and some fun lacey appliques to add as well.

Ok, I am off to drink some coffee an supervise the rug cleaning. Hopefully I will have some pictures to the post a bit later. Hope everyone has a great (cool) day.

PS. Oh, I almost forgot. I am not really closing sign ups for the card swap. You can play as long as you can get me cards by the 8th of August. The thing is, you will not get any reminders or emails unless I have gotten an email from you so if you wish to play along with us, then please email me and let me know. If you HAVE emailed me and have not heard back, please email me again because occasionally I miss things in my spam folder as much as I try to check it. I have heard rumblings from around blog land that people are working on their cards, the only ones I have caught a glimpse of so far are those of Vicki.. check them out...

  1. Welcome back! So happy to hear that you are feeling better. Med switching can certainly be tricky. Hope that rug cleaning goes well!

  2. So sorry to hear of the fires and poor air quality. It must be tough keeping the children indoors, especially durng the summertime. I once had a book of 365 things to do with your kids without tv, or something to that effect. Hope you aren't going mad just yet. I think I would be seeking out friends and relatives out of state for a getaway.

Good luck with the carpet shampooing. Who knows maybe you can hire her out. lol =)

  3. I have my cards done and will get them in the mail in the next couple of days. I went over and checked out Vicki's and they are sweet. I told her I thought we used the same Eiffel Tower on our envelopes!! Too funny!

  5. Oh boy...no reminders.....ok. I guess I'm actually going to have to remember myself. And that could be dangerous.....Glad you had some fun and that you're feeling better :) It's so funny, I keep thinking to myself....Heather and I should get together next week....and then I remember how far you live :( such a bummer I tell you. Good luck with the purge...for me it's when I first start getting rid of things and then there is no stopping me.....Talk to you soon!!

  6. Our youth group camp out just got canceled due to the smoke. This summer is turning out to be such a bummer. Good thing I have fun and exciting things to do while we have to be indoors! (like LolliShops)
