all work and no play...

I decided to give myself a "little" bit of a break this weekend and go back into my studio to try to coax my muse out of wherever she has been hiding. I feel like I got off to kind of a rocky start with some stuff that I DID NOT like but I finally got back into my groove and made ALL my cards for the Summer Card Swap I am hosting as well as some others, which is good because I think I probably will want to keep some.

I really have been having a lot of fun digging into the yummy flocked wallpaper that Donna sent me and stitching away with my sewing machine. I also have dug into the stash of old crepe paper that I scored at SCRAP last time I was in SF. This one is pretty simple. It was an ATC blank I had lying around layered on top of some of the flocked paper with just a bit of old scrap and a collage sheet picture of the lady. I love the colors, even though they do not show up as vibrantly as real life. It was late last night when I was trying to take a few pix so they are not great. I will have to scan the whole lot when I finish everything.
I have started receiving cards from some of the other swappers and they are so cool and original. I want to make a whole stack so I am not tempted to buy any at the store. I love seeing the others to get fresh ideas. If you want to check out some of the other cards, I have started a Flickr pool for them that I hope everyone will contribute too.

I am off to go work on some more web stuff. This week is looking pretty crazy with appointments and finishing up this web job and getting ready for the Gilroy Garlic Festival. Next week I have a big adventure which I will share in a future post.
