I got an amazing package in the mail just before heading off to Art*Play last week. It was from Amber Dawn and in addition to some yumminess we traded for were the returns from the Black & White charm swap she invited me to participate in. I wish I had had time to add them to a bracelet before the workshop but I didn't, oh well. I got them all out again today to photograph and I am itching to get a bracelet blank to add them to.
The little bottles are mine. They are mini vials from a hospital or some such and I filled them with mica and silver glass glitter along with the word "bloom" printed out on old ledger paper and cut into strips. I applied rub ons to the outside of the vial and then inserted the stopper and coated the entire piece with diamond glaze. After it dried ( I hung them up and wiped drips from bottom) I applied another coat to the stopped and coated it in glitter as well. Once dry I tied bits of polka dotted organza ribbon through the holes. Amber was kind enough to add jump rings for me.
I took more pix of my Art*Play stuff today too so check back for that update :)

Oh.My.Gosh. these elements are ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. I want one. WoW. Love it a lot. Each element on it's own is beautiful, but as a whole. Very impressive.
ReplyDeleteSo dramatic, I love black and white. Each piece is wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteHeather, those really look great!!!
ReplyDeleteIf you need more empty bottles/vials let me know. I have access to a few a day. I had never thought to turn them into something so pretty. Makes me wonder what you could do with some other odd medical items....bed pan bling anyone? ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful stuff! I also have played with the teeny bottles, but the diamond glaze is a great idea. I've tried about every other "glaze". Thanks for sharing these fabulous things.
