Alphabetica

THIS, is my journal for the Alphabetica Round Robin I am participating in. It is being hosted by the lovely and talented Marilyn Healey. Many of the 26 gals participating in the RR have chosen a "theme" to go along with the ABC theme. One of my favorites is "Everything I Needed to Know I Learned from ABBA", and others have chosen vintage children, wild women, etc. I first started out wanting to use birds (recurring theme... I know!) but figured that was too limiting. I decided to scrap the secondary theme altogether but then I was stuck on my cover! I chatted with one of the gals from my group, Laura, and she inspired me to just loosen it up a bit by choosing Alphabetica with Wings. So, off she flew yesterday to another Heather! I won't see the book again for around 2 years but I am sure I will get to see peeks of pages and bits along the way. There are some fabulous artists participating so I am sure the wait will be well worth it.

Yesterday I got the wee ones's spring portraits back. They aren't perfect, her little linen dress is a bit crumpled and her hair is a tad messy but Hey! She's 2 and this is the way she looks most days. I think she is beautiful just the way she is...

  1. You MUST alter that with a crown and some faerie wings! She's adorable-what a little pixie.

  7. Cute Little Hannah!! Isn't it so hard to get those at this age looking unrumpled for pictures? She looks so lovely, though!

Your book cover is very pretty! I know what you mean about birds, though. Birds are fun to use in artwork!
