loo and pie

I got back last night from a long weekend in Calistoga with my girlfriends. It was wonderful! Perfect weather, wine tasting, yummy food, girlie gab and a 90 minute massage. Woohoo! On the way up I was able to stop in Yountville for a short time and see the traveling Vietnam Memorial and my dear, dear friend Linda. (aka Loo) Linda is getting ready to have some pretty serious surgery and I have been worrying about her, so it was nice to be able to see her and give her a big hug before she goes to Stanford for her surgery.

This picture was taken by my sister-in-law and will count as my "portrait" this week. (even if its not a SELF portrait) The theme for this months Self Portrait Chellenge is "introduce yourself", so I figured I'd introduce one of my friends too. In addition, I will share that my nick name from Linda is "pie."

Today I was able to completely finish my quiltlets for the swap. I did a total of 7 pieces, 6 of which will be sent in. I had one heck of a time setting the eyelets. Those little buggers kept popping out before I could get them in my setter. They aren't perfect but I think they will get the job done. Now I have to anxiously await the return of my wall hanging.

I should be finishing up my book for the Alphabetica round robin but I got a bit side tracked by an ATC swap at Red Lead with the theme of girlfriends. I found some great quotes to use on them and am enjoying palying with some new techniques and my new french text rubber stamp from Stampin Up.
