the bird is the word

Lately I have been obsessed with birds in my art. Maybe its a spring thing since spring seems to finally be here (my allergies sure are) or maybe I am in that bird frame of mind in preparation for Art Fiber Fest which has the theme of nests/ eggs this year. Regardless I am finding birds spilling over into non AFF related projects such as these tags I am doing for a swap I am hosting at Fat Books. I LOVE these birdie images that Kristina sent me from some vintage Arm & Hammer trading cards and am using them a lot.

  3. I love little birdies too! I have a lot of little birds on vintage postcards that I bought. I will have to go through my stash again for ideas. Your images are so lovely!

  5. Hi! Your bird hearts are absolutely gorgeous! I'm a bird, egg and nest lover too and have just ordered some birdstamps and cards from the US to use in my collages. Collage isn't very popular in Germany and beutiful collage supplies are hard to find here.

  6. Oooo, Heather, I love these!!! I am obsessed with birds, too! i haven't worked with them (yet) but I am drawn to artwork with birds. I really like the heart shapes and the backgrounds. Neat! I think it was Pam garrison who had a handmade book posted on her blog recently. It was filled with birds.

  7. I already gushed about these on flickr, but I just have to say again how wonderful these are! I have not yet tried collage art myself, but I am exited to and am just gathering lots of inspiration at this point and you have definitely offered plenty of it in your artwork. Thanks for sharing it!
